Rail Heritage WA was the first rail preservation group formed in WA.
Our members and volunteers have been working to preserve and present WA's railway heritage since 1959.
Please help restore historic diesel locomotive GM 1 by donating here or via this button;
All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
Today Rail Heritage WA:
- operates the Railway Museum in Bassendean
- carries out restoration of heritage equipment and vehicles
- has an extensive railway archives
- publishes and sells publications of railway-related material
- is a major partner in the South West Rail & Heritage Centre at Boyanup
- lobbies for the preservation and restoration of WA's rail heritage
- has members with interests in every aspect of railway operations and
- owns the Leschenault Lady vintage train now being restored at Boyanup
It depends entirely on its volunteers to manage the organisation and its extensive activities.
